The Standard Mido or High Mido language (official name: Anannanar lon) is a language from the Mido branch of the Mido-Juno languages. The result of standardization efforts made during the early twentieth century, it became a worldwide lingua franca during the Shinra era due to the political and economical promotion it received from the Shinra Corporation. Standard Mido is based on the Central Mido languages but shows a strong Western Mido influence in its phonology and morphology, also incorporating occasional Eastern characteristics that are for the most part considered optional by the standard grammar. It is the official language of the Edge-Midgar administrative region.
